A couple events primarily encouraged me to begin this business. One of those
events was the birth of our son Benji, born in July of 2001. I began thinking
about my hopes for his life. Hopes that he would find real meaning and purpose
in his life. Hopes that he would find fulfillment as his life was shaped each day by
various influences and events. As I thought more about the significance I would
play as his father I realized the impactful influence of the blessing. I saw this in
biblical examples. In the speaking of a few words by a father, the destiny of
generations to follow were changed. Modern day writers like Gary Smalley and
John Trent have also chronicled the effect of the blessing on our children. It was
for Benji's first birthday that I created a blessing for him.
Several people commented on Benji's blessing and I began considering the idea
of creating blessings for others to pass on to loved ones. From that BlessYou was
born. I pray that you may be able to make a lifelong impact on those you love by
